The Hypertension Detection and Follow-Up Program was sponsored by the National Heart and Lung Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to determine the effectiveness of varying methods of treatment in reducing expected morbidity and mortality among people with elevated blood pressure in defined communities. This collection contains reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, manuals, press releases, and research articles. Most of the materials concern the organization, administration, and supervision of the program.
